4th Line Theatre celebrates Black History Month with an Artist Talk featuring Andrew Moodie, playwright of The Real McCoy. The Artist Talk will be a far-ranging conversation between Moodie and 4th Line Theatre Artistic Producer Kim Blackwell, who will direct The Real McCoy. Moodie will explain his motivations in exploring Elijah McCoy's life, how he developed the play's characters as well as a discussion of the history behind the saying the 'Real McCoy' and how McCoy's life reflects the essence of that famous phrase. Andrew Moodie has won the Chalmers Award for playwrighting, a Dora Mavor Moore Award for acting and an award from the Writer's Guild of Canada. He has performed in 37 film and television productions and was the host of the TVO series Big Ideas. |
