Wildcard Wednesdays (Ages 7 to 11)

 

Wildcard Wednesday Camp Registrations is open NOW.

First introduced in 2014, "Wild Card Wednesdays" are back.  These one day camps are for ages 7-11, and run every Wednesday from July 12 to August 16.  There will be a different theme each week, with topics ranging from science to art to history! Activities may include arts and crafts, sports and active play, drama, leadership and more.  With half day and full day registration options, this camp is all about variety, flexibility and fun!

Time

Morning camp: 9:00 AM - 12:00 (noon)

Afternoon camp: 1:00 - 4:00 PM ( 9-4 PM if you register for both sessions).

July 12     Blast Off! Space Camp

Ever thought about what lies beyond our planet? Join us for crafts and activities as we learn about constellations, design our own spaceships, and talk about whether aliens really exist!

 

July 19     Innovative Inventors

Imagination = creation in this STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) based camp. Campers will come up with solutions to challenges and work in groups to create towers, bridges & more!

 

July 26     YUMMY Food Camp

Try your hand in the kitchen with some simple recipes and food themed crafts. You will learn how foods fuel your body and what foods keep you healthy. Please make any food-related allergies known upon registration.

 

August 2     Amazing Race

Ready, set, GO! Riddles, games, and challenges will be completed to advance you and your team to the finish line. Use your mind and agility to get your team ahead!

 

August 9     All Natural Art

Explore the elements of art and crafts while experiencing the great outdoors. Spend time in the park collecting supplies for your art projects and watch your masterpieces come to life!

 

August 16     Spy Kids Training Camp

Go undercover at the PMA and learn how to become a super secret junior spy! These games, challenges, and activities will teach you all there is to know about solving riddles and finding clues, while getting you ready for future missions. 

Personal Health Forms

Each child attending camp must complete and submit a Personal Health Form. This form will be kept on file at the Museum, and only needs to be completed once each year. The form can either be picked up at the Peterborough Museum & Archives or downloaded from our website.

Please submit health forms to the Museum prior to or on the first day of camp your child attends. Wildcard Wednesdays - Art

What to Bring

A morning and/or afternoon snack, water bottle, appropriate clothing and lunch ( if staying for the whole day). The Museum promotes a nut free environment, please ensure snacks and lunch are free of nuts.

Location

Programs take place at the Peterborough Museum & Archives in our new Classroom, the beautiful Heritage Pavilion, the Museum’s galleries and the child-friendly Museum grounds.  Bring a snack (and lunch for a full day) and dress for the weather.

Registration 

Registration for 2017 will open on Saturday, April 1st.

Preregister for a half or whole day whatever best suits your schedule. You can register online, by telephone (705.743.5180) or in person at the Peterborough Museum & Archives (cash, cheque, VISA, MasterCard or American Express)

Program Withdrawal

Refunds may be requested up to 5 business days prior to the start of the program. An administration fee of 10% of class fees will be withheld, with a minimum fee of $5.  Wildcard Wednesdays - Crafts

Photo Waiver

In the course of all program activities, photos will be taken and audio and/or visual recordings may be made.  The Peterborough Museum & Archives reserves the right to use all photographs and videos of all our programs, participants, special events and facilities for promotional purposes.
