P.A. Day Discovery Camps 2017


The PMA now offers camp programs on elementary school P.A. (Professional Activity) days and most school breaks! Modeled after the successful Summer Discovery camps, these camps are for ages 4-11, and include active play, arts and crafts, games, experiments, stories, songs and much more!

Fall P.A. Day Discovery Camps 2017

Out of this World: Space Camp- Friday, Sept. 29th 

Join our Junior Discovery instructor Jeff Guerin for a day of outer space fun! We will explore the stars, learn about planets, search for aliens and so much more.  

Mad Scientist Laboratory- Friday, October 27th 

Join our Mad Scientist Kaitlyn Burke for a day of thrilling fun including hair raising experiments, games, crafts and more! This camp will be the perfect combination of Halloween fun and science! 

Walk Like An Egyptian- Friday, November 24th 

The pyramids are not the only cool thing about Ancient Egypt! Learn how to write like an Egyptian, look at the mysterious gods and goddesses, and find out how mummies were made. Don't forget the iconic Egyptian pose! Join Museum Educator, Faryn Stanley as we play, craft and learn our way to Egypt! 


PA Day camps run two sessions each day (9:00 AM to 12:00 NOON and 1:00 to 4:00 PM).  Morning and afternoon sessions are led by the same instructor and follow the same theme but are independent camps.  Campers can join one or both sessions (lunch is supervised and takes place on site from 12:00 NOON until 1:00 PM for campers staying the whole day).

What to Bring

A nut free morning and/ or afternoon snack, water bottle, appropriate outdoor clothing and nut free lunch (if staying for whole day). The Museum promotes a nut free environment. 

Personal Health Form

Each child attending camp must complete and submit a Personal Health Form. This form will be kept on file at the Museum, and only needs to be completed once each year. The form can either be picked up at the Peterborough Museum & Archives, mailed/e-mailed to you, or downloaded from our website.

Please submit health forms to the Museum prior to or on the first day of camp your child attends. If you would like a form mailed/emailed to you please contact the PMA's Education Officer at 705-743-5180 ext. 2475 or education@peterboroughmuseumandarchives.ca 


Preregister for a half day, a whole day, a week, whatever best suits your schedule. Pre-registration is required for all of our day camp program. You can register online, by telephone (705-743-5180) or in person at the Peterborough Museum & Archives (cash, cheque, VISA, MasterCard or American Express)


Refunds may be requested up to 5 business days prior to the start of the program. An administration fee of 10% of class fees will be withheld, with a minimum fee of $5.  


In the course of all program activities, photos will be taken and audio and/or visual recordings may be made.  The Peterborough Museum & Archives reserves the right to use all photographs and videos of all our programs, participants, special events and facilities for promotional purposes.
