P.A. Day Discovery Camps 2018

The PMA is excited to offer camp programs on elementary school P.A. (Professional Activity) days and most school breaks! Modeled after the successful Summer Discovery camps, these camps are for ages 4-11, and include active play, arts and crafts, games, experiments, stories, songs and much more!

Friday, February 2nd: The Wacky World of Dr. SeussBoy holding magnifying glass outside in winter

Come explore the wonderful and creative mind of Dr.Seuss at the Peterborough Museum & Archives! The day will include crafts, games and activities inspired by The Cat in The Hat, The Lorax, Green Eggs and Ham and more!

Friday, March 9th: Superhero Academy (KPR board only)

We invite you to attend a day of superhero training at the Museum! We will create alter egos, discover our true powers, and learn critical superhero skills.   

Friday, April 20th: Invent It! (KPR board only) 

Join us for a day full of wacky inventions as make our big ideas come to life! We will design machines, learn about past innovations and investigate through STEAM challenges. Be creative and think big in this great engineering camp! 

Friday, May 4th : Do You Dig It? (PVNCCDSB board only)

It is time to get growing! In this camp, you will learn all about plants and flowers, as make our own greenhouses, conduct experiments and explore nature.  

Friday, June 8th: A Pirate's Life for Us!

Ahoy Pirates! Come join us at the Museum as we cast off in search of buried treasure. In this camp we test your pirate knowledge by solving riddles, creating your own pirate map and learning about life on board a ship. 

Friday, June 29th: Summer Shenanigans

Join us as we jump into summer at the Peterborough Museum & Archives! We have an exciting day planned of outdoor activities, nature themed crafts and summertime fun. 

 

Time

PA Day camps run two sessions each day (9:00 AM to 12:00 NOON and 1:00 to 4:00 PM).  Morning andGroup shot of kids infront of a cup tower afternoon sessions are led by the same instructor and follow the same theme but are independent camps.  Campers can join one or both sessions (lunch is supervised and takes place on site from 12:00 NOON until 1:00 PM for campers staying the whole day).

Cost

$20/half day; $40/full day 

What to Bring

A nut free morning and/ or afternoon snack, water bottle, appropriate outdoor clothing and nut free lunch (if staying for whole day). The Museum promotes a nut free environment. 

Personal Health Form

Each child attending camp must complete and submit a Personal Health Form. This form will be kept on file at the Museum, and only needs to be completed once each year. We encourage parents to download the health form to be printed and filled out at home, and brought on the day of camp. Blank health forms are also available upon drop-off.

1. In Person- visit the Peterborough Museum & Archives (300 Hunter St. East, Peterborough). Payment in full must accompany all registrations and can be made using cash, cheque, MasterCard, VISA, AMEX or Interac.

2. Phone- please call the Museum at (705) 743-5180 with a valid credit card.

3. Online- click on the link and locate Museum Programs on the left tool bar. Please note this option does require an account PIN number and a client bar code for each person registering. A valid credit card is required to complete your transaction and registration. Click here to register online

PROGRAM WITHDRAWAL

Refunds may be requested up to 5 business days prior to the start of the program. An administration fee of 10% of class fees will be withheld, with a minimum fee of $5.  

PHOTO WAIVER

In the course of all program activities, photos will be taken and audio and/or visual recordings may be made.  The Peterborough Museum & Archives reserves the right to use all photographs and videos of all our programs, participants, special events and facilities for promotional purposes.
