Wildcard Wednesday Summer Day Camps

First introduced in 2014, "Wild Card Wednesdays" are back.  These one day camps are for ages 7-11, and run every Wednesday from July 4 to August 22 ( 8 weeks).  There will be a different theme each week, with topics ranging from science to art to history! Activities may include arts and crafts, sports and active play, drama, leadership and more.

Wednesdays: July 4, July 11, July 18, July 25, August 1, August 8 (Part of our Wildcard Week), August 15, and August 22, 2018.


Program runs from 9 AM- 4 PM with drop off between 8:30-9:00 AM, and pick-up between 4-4:30 PM.

Wednesday, July 4th: Museum Magic

Abracadabra! Test your knowledge of card tricks and illusions as we learn what it takes to be a magician. 

Wednesday, July 11th: Fun with Fossils!

Start digging! Learn about the fascinating world of archaeology as we create fossils, participate in an archaeological dig and learn about dinosaurs. 

Wednesday, July 18th: Under the Sea

Come to the museum and explore the mysterious creatures that live under the sea! In this camp we will make our own shoe box aquariums to learn all about the underwater world. 

Wednesday, July 25th: Ice Age Exploration

Did you know that the Earth is still in an Ice Age? Explore a world of Woolly Mammoths, Saber-Toothed Cats and ice while investigating our suitcase exhibit from the Museum of Nature.

Wednesday, August 1st: Amazing Race

Ready, set, GO! Riddles, games and challenges will be completed to advance you and your team to the finish line. Use your mind and agility to get your team ahead!

Wednesday, August 15th: Creative MindsCampers with hands painted

Get creative with this art camp at the Museum! We will interpret art, explore different techniques and work at creating our own masterpieces to take home. 

Wednesday, August 22nd: In our Backyard!

Discover the many different species of wildlife that live in the Peterborough area! We will visit the Museum's newest exhibit "On the Trail of the Monarch Butterfly," explore our local forest, and so much more as we learn about the ecosystems in our own backyard! 

Personal Health Forms

Each child attending camp must complete and submit a Personal Health Form. This form will be kept on file at the Museum, and only needs to be completed once each year. The form can either be picked up at the Peterborough Museum & Archives or downloaded from our website.

Please submit health forms to the Museum prior to or on the first day of camp your child attends. 

What to BringKids playing outside in camp

A morning and/or afternoon snack, water bottle, appropriate clothing and lunch ( if staying for the whole day). The Museum promotes a nut free environment, please ensure snacks and lunch are free of nuts.


Programs take place at the Peterborough Museum & Archives in our new Classroom, the beautiful Heritage Pavilion, the Museum’s galleries and the child-friendly Museum grounds.  Bring a snack (and lunch for a full day) and dress for the weather.


Registration for 2018 will open on Monday, March 19th.

Program Withdrawal

Refunds may be requested up to 5 business days prior to the start of the program. An administration fee of 10% of class fees will be withheld, with a minimum fee of $5.  Wildcard Wednesdays - Crafts

Photo Waiver

In the course of all program activities, photos will be taken and audio and/or visual recordings may be made.  The Peterborough Museum & Archives reserves the right to use all photographs and videos of all our programs, participants, special events and facilities for promotional purposes.
