The Balsillie Collection of Roy Studio Images comprises over 300,000 glass plate and film negatives, covering the period between 1896 to 1992. Many of the images are portraits, while the remainder depict local scenes and historical events. The Balsillie Collection illustrates the history of our community, its pastimes, pleasures, work and family life.
The Balsillie Collection of Roy Studio Images, along with other holdings of the Peterborough Museum & Archives, constitutes one of the most important historical photographic collections in Canada.
