Textiles at the Museum
Using selected artifacts from the Museum's own collection, we examine domestic history and social development through clothing and textile arts.
Irish Crossings
The recently re-discovered journals of ship's surgeon, Dr. Burnie (1825) shed new light on the Irish emigrations to the Peterborough area. Learn about the story of the emigration ship, "The John Barry".
Early Settlement of Peterborough
What was it like to be among the first Europeans to this area? And what of the First Peoples who have been here for thousands of years? Learn about Adam Scott, the Stewarts, the Robinson settlers, Catharine Parr Traill and Susanna Moodie.
Special Exhibitions Tour
All exhibitions are available for an interpretive tour. Check the exhibition schedule.
School Education Programs may be modified for any age group.
Booking Information
Advance booking for all programs is required.
Contact School, Education, Youth & Adult Programs.
Time: Programs are 1.5 to 2 hours long – morning or afternoon. Evening programs may also be arranged for groups.
Group Size: maximum 30 unless otherwise arranged.
Program Fees: $4 per participant (week day) minimum $48 per group.
Weekend and evening programs at the Museum minimum $70 per group.
Cancellations: at least one day advanced notice is required (bus cancellation days excepted).
