Wildcard Wednesday Summer Day Camps

First introduced in 2014, "Wild Card Wednesdays" are back.  These one day camps are for ages 7-11, and run every Wednesday from July 3 to August 21 ( 8 weeks).  There will be a different theme each week, with topics ranging from science to art to history! Activities may include arts and crafts, sports and active play, drama, leadership and more.

Program runs from 9 AM- 4 PM with drop off between 8:30-9:00 AM, and pick-up between 4-4:30 PM. 

Early Bird Program- 8:00-8:30 AM

We are excited to offer additional care starting at 8:00 a.m. for campers and their families who need an early start in the morning. This option is available for a fee of $5 per day. To attend you must be enrolled within one of our day camp programs on the day of registration.

Wednesday, July 3rd: Anchors Aweigh

Dive in with your imaginations as we discover a fantasy world of pirates, mermaids and lost treasure. We will make eye patches and treasure maps as we learn to navigate like a pirate!

Wednesday, July 10th: The Earth, Inside Out!

Have you ever wondered what lies beneath your feet? In this great introduction to geology, campers will investigate rocks and minerals to learn about the layers of the Earth and the processes that are continuing to shape it today.  

Wednesday, July 17th: Blast Off- Space Camp!

Have you ever wondered what lies beyond our planet? Join us for crafts and activities as we learn about constellations, design our own space ships and talk about whether aliens really exist!

Wednesday, July 24th: Imagine Art

Unlock your creativity in this fun day of creative expression! We will experiment with different mediums including paint, plaster, drawing, and more. 

Wednesday, July 31st: Lego Mania

Calling all Lego enthusiasts! Get ready to become an architect, engineer and more as you unleash your creativity with out collection of LEGO in this special 1 day camp.

Wednesday, August 7th: Let's Get Cooking

Try your hand in the kitchen with some simple recipes and food related crafts. You will learn how food fuel your body and what foods keep you healthy! Please make any food allergies known upon registration. 

Wednesday, August 14th: Walk like an EgyptianCampers with hands painted

The pyramids are not the only cool thing about ancient Egypt! Learn how to write like an Egyptian, look at the mysterious gods and goddesses, and find out how mummies were made! Don't forget the iconic Egyptian pose. We will be playing, painting, and writing out way to Egypt!  

Wednesday, August 21st: Amazing Race

Ready, set, GO! Riddles, games and challenges will be completed to advance you and your team to the finish line. Use your mind and agility to get your team ahead!  

Personal Health Forms

Each child attending camp must complete and submit a Personal Health Form. This form will be kept on file at the Museum, and only needs to be completed once each year. The form can either be picked up at the Peterborough Museum & Archives or downloaded from our website.

Please submit health forms to the Museum prior to or on the first day of camp your child attends. 

What to BringKids playing outside in camp

A morning and/or afternoon snack, water bottle, appropriate clothing and lunch ( if staying for the whole day). The Museum promotes a nut free environment, please ensure snacks and lunch are free of nuts.


Programs take place at the Peterborough Museum & Archives in our new Classroom, the beautiful Heritage Pavilion, the Museum’s galleries and the child-friendly Museum grounds.  Bring a snack (and lunch for a full day) and dress for the weather.


Registration for 2019 will open on Tuesday, January 2nd.

Program Withdrawal

Refunds may be requested up to 5 business days prior to the start of the program. An administration fee of 10% of class fees will be withheld, with a minimum fee of $5.  Wildcard Wednesdays - Crafts

Photo Waiver

In the course of all program activities, photos will be taken and audio and/or visual recordings may be made.  The Peterborough Museum & Archives reserves the right to use all photographs and videos of all our programs, participants, special events and facilities for promotional purposes.
